| Once the ies file has been loaded into 3dOP Pro, the file itself is displayed in the "IES" TAB in the bottom left corner of the window below.
Click on the "1" TAB next to the "G" TAB in the bottom right corner of the window to display the fixture control tab for the loaded fixture. Up to nine different fixtures can be loaded in the Pro version of the software. The default "Grid" is the Ground-Wall grid as shown below. Other grids will be described later. Note: 3dOP Pro remembers the last used interface configuration. On opening 3dOP Pro the interface will be the same as when it was last exited. The fixture control panel allows the user to group, set lumens, set the light loss factor, and set the light color as well as position and rotate each individual fixture. The fixture catalog number is also displayed if it is available in the ies file.
The fixture control panel allows the user to move and rotate the fixture position within the grid. The grid axes are as shown below:
The SL-23 in-ground fixture selected has a tight spot optic and is usually used to light objects such as columns or trees. Moving the fixture 1ft in the +Z direction (using the slider in the "Z" column of controls) will bring it away from the wall and illuminate light levels on the wall as shown below:
At this point it is worth increasing the "Zoom" in the "Transforms" area in the upper right hand corner. Change the value to 1.8 to see the output better.
Experiment with the controls and see what happens to the light. |
